Be the Steadiness You Seek

I know that for many of us,
the world is feeling scary and unpredictable right now.
Like me, you may want to stay informed,
yet find yourself bracing against the constant noise
of alarming news coming from every direction.
And maybe, like me, you want to help heal the brokenness in the world…
but you feel unsure where or how to begin.
✨ When the world is hurting, the most powerful healing begins within yourself.
Give yourself permission to feel whatever is arising,
while being careful not to get stuck in it.
Allow yourself to feel it fully, so it can move through you,
without getting attached to a story or a powerless mindset.
And then give yourself permission to care for yourself
in whatever way your heart truly needs.
Please give yourself permission to put your needs first.
It’s not selfish ~ it’s self-full.
When you're full, you're more able to show up for others.
Self-care is an act of responsibility and loyalty to yourself
and it's ultimately what's also best for the overall collective.
In these uncertain times,
you may find yourself needing more steadiness —
So remember that you are the gentle, kind, steady center you need.
Stay lovingly present with yourself, as much as possible.
If that feels hard, even a few breaths or a few moments is enough.
And let’s practice being mindful of how quickly we reach to numb ourselves
with food, alcohol, shopping, scrolling, overworking…
to escape feelings that feel too big or scary to be with.
Because we can consciously choose nourishment over numbing.
We can choose self-regulation over self-abandonment.
When tears well up,
instead of stuffing them down,
you can wrap yourself in a warm blanket hug and be with them tenderly.
When fear creeps in,
instead of bypassing it,
you can acknowledge it and let it be there, right alongside your hope.
When joy bubbles over,
instead of stifling it,
you can let your body feel it fully and express it naturally.
We can stay present with ourselves. Steady as we go.
In uncertain times like these,
self-abandonment is easy and may be a familiar pattern.
But gentle self-care and loving presence are healing... Soothing.
Reassuring, for your nervous system and your heart.
Stay with yourself. Stay with what’s present in you.
Let your inner steadiness become a quiet act of Self-Love that ripples outward.

"When you make a loving choice for yourself, you make a loving choice for the whole."
~ Gabrielle Bernstein
💓 Choosing Nourishment Over Numbing:
Take one intentional deep breath.
Stay present with yourself in this moment.
Feel into your heart and softly ask yourself:
"What form of nourishment does my soul need right now?"
Allow yourself this simple act of self-care.
