Walking Each Other Home

In my last post,
I wrote about embracing the process of aging.
We spend so much time and energy
trying to hide and fix our perceived flaws.
Physically.
Mentally.
Emotionally.
We take all kinds of measures to appear as perfect as possible.
We do our best to curate our lives.
Then we only present the polished version.
And we try to seem like we have it all together.
Like we have the perfect home, perfect job,
perfect family, perfect relationship.
The perfect life.
We hide our vulnerabilities and our truth
(the parts of us that are the most human)
out of fear that those parts won’t be accepted.
But deep down,
what we’re all really seeking,
is profound love and belonging
for all the parts of us.
Unfortunately, we’ve collectively bought into the lie
that we can find — or buy — love and belonging
in something outside of ourselves…
We believe that if we achieve some elusive version of perfection,
then we’ll finally feel like we’re enough.
But striving for perfection
only takes you further away from what you’re really looking for.
✨ The paradox of perfection is that you’re already perfect exactly as you are.
The true, soul-satisfying depths
of love and belonging that you’re searching for
can only be found within you.
When you learn to love yourself ~
In each moment.
In every stage of life.
In all of your perfect imperfections.
The path of Self-Love leads us to the Ultimate Destination.
The place we’re all on a journey to find…
→ The home within our own heart.
And when you learn to love yourself fully,
not just your polished parts,
but all parts of you,
you don’t only come home to yourself…
You help others feel safe
to come home to themselves, too.
This is what it means to "walk each other home."
This is how we collectively stop trying to hide our flaws
and embrace our inherent worthiness.
By choosing to follow the path of Self-Love,
we shine a light for others to do the same, and we walk together.

"True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are;
it requires you to BE who you are." ~ Brené Brown
🩷 Welcoming Yourself Home:
I invite you to place a hand on your heart.
Slowly take a deep breath in… and let it out even more slowly.
Notice what parts of you you’ve been trying to hide from others.
And softly reassure yourself:
"All parts of me are welcome here."
