Pausing is Part of the Process

Sometimes when life begins to feel like too much,

the most loving thing we can do is pause and simply be with what's present.

Instead of pushing through.

Many of us are feeling the swirl of uncertainty in the air ~ myself included.

The world around us can feel like it’s on fire with the current state of events.

At the same time, many of us are navigating big personal transitions…

or feeling the quiet pull toward making one.

But our energy doesn’t always match the urgency we think we should have.

We might feel a little stifled in our motivation.

A little lacking in our capacity for anything extra right now.

A little distracted... A little less able to focus.

Maybe we feel the need for extra rest. For more space.

For the time to sit with whatever emotions are rising within us…

and just let ourselves feel it.

I’m personally caught between the need to pause and integrate what I’m feeling,

versus pushing forward and stepping into the next phase of my life.

But instead of allowing the pause, we start 'shoulding' all over ourselves.

We tell ourselves we should be pushing forward.

We should be more productive.

We should already be moving into the next phase.

But growth doesn’t always move in a straight or steady line.

We don’t always have to be pushing forward onto the next thing.

Sometimes growth asks us to pause.

To create spaciousness.

To allow whatever is rising within us —

whatever is asking to be seen, felt, or heard —

the space it needs so that it can take root. Gently. In our hearts.

Pausing and integrating are necessary parts of our growth process.

Just like a seed needs time to germinate

before it can break through the surface.

We often have little patience to pause and be present with this phase of life.

Because cracking open is very uncomfortable.

The slow struggle to reach through the darkness of the soil feels really uncertain.

And sometimes it may look like nothing is happening at all.

But if we let it be, if we don’t push,

if we allow it to take the time it needs…

Then beneath the surface, new life is quietly taking root.

And when we trust the process,

when we allow whatever is unfolding within us to take its time,

these roots will be stronger and healthier for it.

Much more able to support whatever is preparing to grow.

So, if you’re also feeling the need to pause…

to take space…

to rest…

Please trust that.

Notice what you’re feeling.

Allow yourself time to be present with it.

Love yourself right where you are,

in whatever phase of growth you find yourself in.

"Sometimes what looks like a pause in your life

is actually a moment for your soul to catch up with you." ~ Morgan Harper Nichols

🌿A Moment to Pause:

I invite you to place a hand on your heart

And take a slow, deep breath in… and even more slowly out.

Let your shoulders soften.

Notice that you don’t have to move forward right now.

It's safe to pause for a few moments.

Simply allow yourself to be here and breathe into this feeling.
