Meeting Yourself in This Moment

We have a natural tendency to grip onto the moments when life feels good.

When things seem to be going well,

we want to hold onto the pleasant feelings.

 

And when things feel difficult or uncertain,

we often want to control the situation, fix it,

or push past it as quickly as possible.

 

But Self-Love teaches us to simply be present

with whatever is true in each moment.

Trusting that it's perfect, just as it is.

 

Because your life is not one long continuous story.

It is a series of small moments.

Strung together.

One at a time.


And the way they all fit together to become a beautiful story,

will only make sense once it's complete.

 

The practice is to see each moment as equally valuable as the next…

no matter what it holds.

 

Sometimes we cling to memories of the past.

But those memories are always shaped by our chosen perspective.

 

Other times we project ourselves into the future,

hoping for something better and imagining how things will ideally unfold.

But the future rarely arrives exactly the way we imagine it.

 

This is the only moment where life actually exists.

 

All we truly have is this moment.

 

So instead of gripping onto it,

or pushing past it,

or reaching for something better,

what if you simply allowed this moment to be what it is?

 

What if you met yourself right here… right now?

 

You are meant to be the quiet, ever-present witness of your experience…

Soaking it all in through your senses.

Noticing what you feel,

what you think,

what is present for you

in each moment.

 

This moment is where your connection with yourself lives.

This moment is where your connection with others is experienced.

This moment is where life is actually happening.

 

If you choose to be lovingly present with yourself,

this moment, just as it is, is always enough.

I invite you to take an intentional deep breath in.

As you slowly release it,

Place a hand on your heart and ask yourself gently:

"What is true for me in this moment?"

Notice whatever arises, without wanting it to be different.
