Love Within Us, Becomes Love Between Us

We’ve been exploring how self-judgement distracts us from our feelings
and how the practice of Self-Love helps us reconnect with ourselves.
Now let’s broaden that perspective…
Because not only does judgement affect our relationship with ourselves,
it also causes separation in our relationships with others.
When we judge or try to fix someone else,
it’s often because they’re reflecting something we haven’t accepted in ourselves ~ something that’s tender, raw, or uncomfortable to feel.
And usually, instead of being with that inner discomfort,
we bypass the feeling that’s been triggered within us,
and default to placing judgement on the other person.
But judgement never makes us feel better,
it only creates walls between us.
Judgement can give us the fleeting illusion of self-righteousness,
but research shows that judgement is actually like a mirror,
reflecting our own insecurities and self-judgements back at us…
Specifically, the parts of ourselves that we’d rather not face.
It’s easy to pass judgement. It’s a natural human habit.
But it’s courageous to practice self-reflection instead,
while looking below our own surface.
✨ Judgement isolates, but love invites us back into connection.
Through judgement we create separation from others, and from ourselves.
But through the practice of Self-Love,
we expand our capacity for understanding,
which blossoms into compassion and grace,
creating a beautiful space for growth and connection ~
both within us, and between us.
As you practice loving yourself while suspending judgement,
you'll find that curiosity and compassion for what’s stirring beneath your surface
will naturally begin to flow outward to others.
You’ll start to understand that everyone is on their own sacred journey,
doing the best they can, with the conscious Awareness they currently have.
How we show up in our relationships with others,
is a reflection of how we’ve learned to show up for ourselves.
Every time you choose love over judgement,
you not only heal your connection with yourself,
you help weave a kinder, more connected world.

“By doing the work to love ourselves more, I believe we will love each other better.” ~ Laverne Cox
🌿The next time you notice judgement towards another, can you pause?
Meet the moment with compassion, instead of condemnation...
Maybe even take a breath... Get curious... Ask yourself,
“What am I feeling beneath this judgement?
What might they be feeling beneath their action?”
