Intention Lights Your Way

I just had one of those opportunities that we’ve been talking about ~
An opportunity to soften into Awareness, and then Breathe myself into presence.
I was on the phone dealing with an unexpected situation,
when I caught the tone of aggravation and sharpness in my voice.
I noticed my jaw tightening.
I became aware of the uneasiness in my stomach.
Awareness allowed me to soften.
And as I softened, I took the opportunity for a slow, deep, intentional breath.
That breath anchored me back into the present moment.
It helped me to re-center, regulate my nervous system,
and gave me the opportunity to be more Intentional as I move forward.
Intention is what empowers you to choose
how you wish to Be With Yourself
in whatever is present right now,
and as you move forward.
💫 Intention lights your way so Self-Love can follow.
If I’m being honest though,
I took more than one or two deep breaths ~
It was more like 10 minutes of conscious breathing,
because that's what I needed.
10 minutes. Breathing slowly, Intentionally Being With Myself.
First, being fully present in the feelings of stress.
Then, as the feelings of stress began to dissolve,
I was able to be fully present
with love, understanding, and compassion
for the part of me that spoke in aggravation
to someone who was just trying to do their job
(I'm not condoning my behavior, but also not criticizing myself for it either).
I took those slow, deep, intentional breaths into my heart,
and gradually felt my energy come back,
as I became my Calm and Centered Self again.
Could I have been doing something more “productive” in that 10 minutes?
Sure. I could have done 10 more minutes of work.
But I would argue that,
taking those 10 minutes to breathe and be with myself,
was actually the most valuable and productive thing I did today.
Because it completely reset my energy and shifted how I moved forward:
Centered in my loving intention.
Otherwise, I would’ve been quietly carrying stress and tension
hidden under a clenched jaw and tight shoulders for the rest of the day,
in a state of disconnection from myself and everyone else.
But you know what?
Because I intentionally chose to show up with love for myself,
I feel so much better ~ Calm and Connected.
Which allowed me to show up with love for everyone else for the rest of the day.
Awareness comes first and creates the space for a soft pause,
where the breath can be used as our anchor,
and Intention shifts us from simply "noticing"
into the empowerment of choice.
We always have the power to choose,
intentionally,
to be with ourselves in loving presence…
and to move forward from that space within us.
Intention lights your way so Self-Love can follow.

Self-Love is a journey that requires conscious intention and commitment each day.
🕯️ Next time Awareness gives you an opportunity to soften,
Can you use your breath to anchor into the present moment and ask,
“What if I my intention were to love myself right now? How might I move forward?”
