You Can't Do It Wrong

When I’m going through difficult times in my life,
I have this internal narrative of limiting beliefs that inevitably starts up.
It tells me that I’m doing it all wrong,
that I don’t know how to do it right,
but somehow, everyone else does.
The "it" can be anything,
depending on what I’m bumping up against in my life.
I know I’m not alone in this.
We all carry limiting beliefs —
patterns of thought that are rooted in childhood wounds —
and they get triggered when life feels hard.
It’s a natural part of being human.
It’s really important to meet these wounded parts with compassion
(more on that in my next post),
and it’s equally important to gently shift our perspective,
so we don’t spiral into self-doubt and endless negative thoughts.
I’ve found that the more I practice Self-Love,
the easier it is to be aware when these thoughts arise…
and to lovingly bring myself back to my center.
So yesterday, when I noticed the familiar wounded part show up
with the old fear that I must’ve done everything wrong in my life,
instead of getting sucked into a negative loop or even trying to negate it,
I met it with so much love.
And I allowed it to be here.
I held space for the feelings underneath the limiting belief,
because I understand where it comes from…
and I have so much compassion for this part of me.
And then, gently, I brought myself back.
Back into my body.
Back into the present moment.
With a shift in perspective, I reminded myself of the bigger truth:
none of us really know what we’re doing.
We’re all just fumbling through this human experience,
doing our best to figure things out as we go.
So it’s okay if I don’t know how to do it "right."
Because when I tune into my heart,
the deeper Soul-Self part of me knows
I can’t actually do it wrong.
That's not how life works.
✨The human journey isn’t about getting it right ~
it’s about remembering our Wholeness.
We all have moments when we feel like we’ve got it figured out,
and in those moments life seems awesome.
And we all have moments when we feel like we have no clue what we’re doing,
and in those moments life seems like a difficult mess.
We all have the full range of experiences on that spectrum.
We move between those places from one day to the next…
sometimes from one moment to the next.
And we’re all in this together.
So when my old thoughts of self-doubt creep in,
I know I’m being reminded to gently love myself in them.
To come back to Self-Love
in each moment,
in each feeling,
in each season of life,
exactly as I am,
in my humanness.
When we face difficult times and negative thought patterns,
it’s love that brings us back to center and reminds us of our Wholeness.

🩷 Meeting Limiting Beliefs with Love:
Take a slow, deep breath, and place a hand on your heart.
Notice if there's a limiting belief playing in your background thoughts.
If so, I encourage you to meet it with love and compassion.
Gently ask yourself:
"How can I shift my perspective and give myself grace for being human?"
Let the answer lovingly land in your body.

Love this! Yes - I believe that we're here to grow- (I sure am), and the only way to grow is through challenges and mistakes. So many layers of trauma and limiting beliefs - but there's no destination. I keep coming back to reminding myself to focus on enjoying the rich human process/experience.
