This Is Why We Practice Self-Love

Self-Love is the foundation for the life you want.
Meaning, it's the foundation for how you want to feel.
But learning to love yourself isn't a magical "fix."
It won't help you to control yourself,
or the different aspects of your life.
It won’t help you avoid the uncomfortable parts,
and it won't stop the hard things from happening, but…
✨ Self-Love helps you to meet life exactly where you are.
So that you can show up for the hard things
feeling more calm and steady.
You can show up for important relationships
with more vulnerability and authenticity.
You can look at your shortcomings and learn from them
with more honesty and compassion.
You can be fully present for the incredible moments
with pure joy and aliveness.
You can stay connected to yourself in difficult times
with more grace and balance.
Self-Love is a practice of returning home to yourself,
of re-centering yourself in your heart,
again and again,
and learning to move through life from that space.
The more willing you are to learn to love yourself,
the more you practice loving yourself,
the more you return to yourself…
Then the more you'll find yourself simply meeting life as it is.
The more competent and confident you'll feel
in your ability to stay centered and calm.
The more strongly rooted you'll feel in your truest Self.
The easier it will feel to be open and present with whatever shows up.
You're not here to learn to do life perfectly or to avoid difficulties —
you're here to learn to love yourself in every step of the journey.

Take a slow breath in… and let it out even more slowly.
Place a hand to your heart,
and focus your awareness into your heart-space.
With your next breath, set an intention to center yourself here.
Gently ask yourself:
"What would it look like to move through life from my heart today?"
