The Practice of Returning

The path of Self-Love asks us to practice returning to ourselves
again and again.
This is the work.
To cultivate self-awareness.
To notice when we've become lost
in our thoughts, worries, fears, stories, judgments, or distractions.
And then, with self-compassion,
return to ourselves once again.
The practice doesn't have to be complicated.
Sometimes five minutes of quiet time with yourself
is enough to help you get centered.
Sometimes three slow, intentional, deep breaths
are enough to help you re-balance when you’ve been thrown off kilter.
And sometimes, when life feels especially overwhelming,
if you simply pause for long enough
to take one conscious inhale followed by a slow exhale,
it’s enough to bring you back to yourself.
It doesn’t matter how often you do it,
or if you do it perfectly.
✨ Returning to yourself is not something you master ~ it's simply a practice.
What matters is only that you return.
Return to this moment.
Return to your senses.
Return to your body.
Return to your breath.
Return to what is real and true right now.
And begin again.
And the next time you find yourself caught in a spiral
of worry, doubt, fear, control, gripping, grasping, blaming, or shaming,
or any state that doesn’t feel good in your body...
Simply begin again, again.
Honestly, this is what it’s all about.
The work is never done.
There is no finish line for Self-Love.
And that’s a beautiful gift.
Because you can just relax and come back to the practice,
instead of worrying about getting it right.
The journey of returning home to yourself is a continual practice
of remembering to embody your Wholeness, again and again.

I invite you to pause for a moment,
place a hand on your heart,
and take 3 intentional and slow deep breaths
while gently reminding yourself:
"I'm right here. Right now. All is well in this moment."
