The Unfolding Spiral of Healing

As I've been processing some of my own healing this week,
I'm reflecting on how we’re all walking around with varying degrees of trauma.
It’s an unavoidable universal human experience.
Some of us have endured bigger or more obvious wounds than others,
but every one of us carries some form of emotional scarring —
a painful imprint of disconnection, waiting to be healed.
Large or small, trauma is the result of our inner response to an external harm
when the need for care isn’t fully met by an empathic or loving witness.
There's no blame to be placed ~ we've all inherited these patterns.
Our culture has largely ignored emotional needs for many generations.
It's a learned coping mechanism that's been passed down and compounded.
But the tides are turning now.
More and more people are waking up.
We’re realizing that much of the way we’ve been taught to live as a society
doesn’t actually feel good.
And we want to feel better.
We want our children to feel better.
And their children, too.
So we’re beginning to do the work of healing...
We’re learning to take better care of ourselves.
And if you’re reading this Self-Love blog,
I can venture a guess that you’re part of the awakening.
I want to pause and acknowledge you for that.
Choosing to heal is brave.
Learning to love yourself can be an uncomfortable journey.
And Self-Love is where true healing begins.
But by Divine Design, healing doesn’t happen in a straight line.
It’s not a magical forward progression where you set a goal, do the work,
and arrive at a permanently ‘healed’ version of yourself.
✨ Healing is not linear ~ it requires returning home to yourself again and again.
It’s the practice of continually showing up for yourself.
This is the journey of your lifetime.
There are ebbs and flows on the journey.
Moments of remembering and moments of forgetting.
Times of releasing and times of gripping more tightly.
You’ll have days of doubting and days of deep knowing...
And it's all okay. It's all part of it.
You will spiral upward, yes.
But spiraling upward means circling back around… time after time.
And each time with a broader perspective and deeper understanding.
Each time strengthening your connection to yourself.
Each time expanding your capacity to love yourself.
Both the ebbs and the flows are important and necessary to this process.
Healing means choosing growth, even when it’s not easy to see.
It’s dedicating yourself to your own expansion.
It’s deciding, over and over, that your heart is worth returning home to.
This is the journey that’s meant for you.
May you trust the unfolding spiral of your healing.

🏠 An Invitation to Return:
I invite you to pause here for a few moments.
Place a hand over your heart, and take one slow, deep breath.
With gentle curiosity, ask yourself:
"Where in my life am I being invited to return to myself?"
May you receive the answer with an open heart.
