Celebrating Our Differences

Last week, I shared that I would be away visiting family.
And while I’m away,
instead of writing two new posts,
I’m sharing two reflections I find to be very meaningful.
In my last post I shared one of my favorite quotes by Ram Dass.
The quote encourages us to extend grace and understanding
for the imperfections in each other,
just as we do for the imperfections in nature.
Today, I’ll share a beautiful poem by Cleo Wade that carries a similar message.
To me, this poem is a loving reminder
that no matter our appearance,
no matter what conditions we’ve lived through,
no matter where we are on our growth journey,
and no matter how we’ve bloomed,
we still belong.
And we are always worthy of love and support.
✨Mother Nature teaches us to appreciate and celebrate our differences.
Here’s the poem by Cleo Wade:
do you think
Mother Nature
cares
that any of her
beautiful flowers
grow in an array
of shades and sizes?
or that one grows
in this direction
and one grows
in that direction?
no,
she puts all of them in her
magnificent garden
so they may
be together
and
root
for
each
other
Just like every flower has its own beauty,
each of us brings something unique to this magnificent garden of life.
May we celebrate our differences,
recognize the beauty in one another,
and remember to always root for each other.

"We rise by lifting others." ~ Robert Ingersoll
