The Experiences that Shape Us

We all face challenges in life.
We all have difficult times we struggle to get through.
We’ve all felt lost sometimes, or maybe even hopeless.
We've all had the experience of feeling like we're broken.
We've all made huge mistakes and we've all experienced deep pain...
And sometimes, we get stuck in difficult times
and our pain is made worse
because of how hard we are on ourselves.
But no matter how many times, or how bad, you’ve messed up,
no matter how rough life feels,
even when you hurt others and/or yourself,
those choices and experiences don’t define you.
Learning to love yourself
means embracing challenges, struggles, mistakes, emotional pain,
and those feelings of being lost, hopeless, or broken,
as a vitally important part of the journey.
Because these things are what make us human.
They're the experiences that truly shape us
into wiser, more compassionate,
more whole versions of ourselves.
✨ Our challenges will ultimately reveal more of who we truly are.
They're the experiences that teach us how to persevere,
how to be resilient,
how to stretch,
how to do better,
and grow into versions of ourselves
that we're most proud of...
But in order to do that,
we have to give ourselves grace.
We have to forgive ourselves for our mistakes.
We get to choose to move forward
instead of staying trapped in a self-imposed prison.
The truth is that none of us have ever been broken.
We’ve been stumbling… hurting… learning… growing… becoming….
And we all deserve our own compassion.
Every version of you
deserves your understanding, your forgiveness, your evolution.
Every version of you deserves your love.
Instead of letting your past mistakes determine your future,
allow them to shape you.
When you love yourself through your challenges,
you can emerge as a healthier, more whole version of yourself.

💗 Wholeness
I invite you to place your hand over your heart.
Take an intentional slow, deep breath... and let it out as slowly as possible.
Allow yourself to consider this thought:
"What if nothing about me has ever been broken?"
Sit quietly for a few moments with whatever arises.
