Growth Rooted in Self-Love
Updated: 4 days ago
Over the last several weeks,
I’ve written about loving every version of yourself,
and allowing yourself to keep unfolding
without striving for perfection or putting one version above another.
But I want to be clear that loving yourself exactly as you are
doesn't mean you stop growing.
And allowing yourself to grow
doesn't mean the version of you who's here today
isn't already worthy of your love.
Self-Love and personal growth aren’t opposing practices.
They’re actually beautifully aligned.
There's a profound difference
between trying to change yourself
because you believe you're not enough,
and allowing yourself to grow
because you naturally blossom when you love yourself.
Growth that’s rooted in shame or judgement is insidious
because it’s fed by self-rejection and self-suppression.
But when growth is rooted in Self-Love,
we don't have to reject who we are
in order to unfold into who we're becoming.
Loving ourselves and working on ourselves
are not practices that cancel each other out.
✨ Self-Love is the fertile ground where authentic growth naturally emerges.
It creates growth organically from an empowered place of self-acceptance.
We can love our imperfections
while remaining curious about them.
We can have compassion for our patterns
while choosing to change them.
We can forgive ourselves for our mistakes
while learning from them.
We can fully accept who we are today
while remaining open to how life is asking us to grow.
The practice of loving each version of ourselves
encourages growth from a beautifully aligned and embodied place.
Because we stop forcing ourselves toward an idealized version
and begin listening more deeply to what feels true for us.
When you truly love yourself in your Wholeness,
growth naturally unfolds from a place that is authentic and aligned.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am,
then I can change." ~ Carl Rogers
🌱 Rooted in Self-Love
I invite you to place a hand on your heart,
and take a slow, deep breath in… and even more slowly out.
Fill your heart with love for who you are right now,
then softly remind yourself:
"I love exactly who I am, and I’m open to growing and evolving."
