Finding Gratitude in Small Ways
A few days ago,
I wrote about how finding gratitude for our journey
can deepen our Self-Love.
But I know that sometimes gratitude can feel abstract or idealistic.
Life can be so amazing and beautiful.
And it can also be difficult and painful.
When things aren't going our way,
it can be especially challenging to find things to feel grateful for.
I've found that the times when gratitude feels the hardest to practice
are usually the times when I need it most.
So it helps to remember that gratitude can be small.
As simple as appreciating something that makes life a little bit easier.
Because when life is difficult,
there are almost always people and things supporting us along the way…
Even if it’s in the smallest of ways.
And when I intentionally look for those things,
I can see how they're helping me to keep moving forward
as life continues to unfold around me.
Gratitude isn't meant to be something we hold off on
until life is going the way we want.
✨ Gratitude is a practice of noticing how life is supporting us in its own way.
There will always be twists and turns on our journey.
There’s bound to be unexpected challenges.
Difficult moments are almost guaranteed.
In those times, we can look for the smallest things to appreciate,
while taking care not to force ourselves into positivity.
If we can begin finding gratitude in even the smallest of ways,
we’ll open ourselves to recognizing it in more places…
A animal who shows us love.
A hug from a friend.
A smile from a stranger.
A beautiful blue sky.
A starry night.
Another sunrise.
A child's laughter.
A song that moves us.
Food on our plate.
Even a green light on our way.
There are an infinite number of moments inviting us to feel grateful.
And I’ve found that the more we practice noticing them,
the more accessible and abundant gratitude can become.
It doesn’t make our challenges disappear,
but it helps us to recognize the things that bolster us,
even when life feels hard.
Gratitude is a powerful practice of Self-Love.
Because when we make a little space for it every day,
it becomes a source of nourishment we can return to when we need it most.
Allow life to show you all the ways you're supported.
And let gratitude be one of the ways you love yourself every day.

"Gratitude doesn't mean pretending everything is good.
It means noticing what still is, even when life hurts." ~ Kristen Butler
♥️ Notice the Ways You’re Supported
I invite you to take a slow, deep breath in…
and as you slowly release it,
feel the support beneath you.
Then gently ask yourself:
"What’s one small thing that's making life a little easier today?"
Allow yourself a moment to appreciate the answer.
